=== Mac OS X ===

For the **Mac OS X** binary, you must download the //server//, then download the latest //maps//.  //Untar// the maps in the **''etc/crossfire/''** directory inside the //server directory//. Once this is done, you should run the **''crossfire''** file in the **''bin/''** directory. If you want a dedicated server, run the file, **''crossloop''**.

=== Windows ===

If you use the **Windows** binary, download the server and maps [[http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=13833&package_id=99312|here]]. Once the download is complete, just run the exe files and press //yes or ok// on all questions. :) Open the //Start Menu//, find the //Crossfire Server// entry, and choose //Crossfire Server// in this menu.
